Vandalia-Butler City Schools is building for excellence with a bold plan to replace and upgrade aging facilities without an increase in taxes.

With community support and guidance, the district is replacing Morton Middle School, renovating Butler High School, and providing critical upgrades to the remaining schools. The project is made possible by a 4.76-mill bond issue that voters approved in November 2008. The redirection of existing funds and aggressive cost management allowed the district to proceed with the project without an additional cost to taxpayers.

Students and teachers will benefit from new technology, resources, and up-to-date classrooms that support 21st century teaching practices. The project will reflect a course of excellence in academics and athletics that distinguishes not just Vandalia-Butler City Schools, but our community as a whole.
